All Star Sprint Race Results - Volusia Speedway Park - Sun.

BARBERVILLE, FLA. - Danny Lasoski Sunday night completed a sweep
of the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car features during the
29th Winternationals at Volusia Speedway Park, winning his fourth
consecutive main event in the 30-lap championship run, worth $7,000.
Lasoski, from Dover, Mo., has dominated the sprint car racing action
at the half-mile dirt oval during Speedweeks, setting a new track
qualifying record earlier in the week to go along with his four
checkered flags. On this night, however, he had to have a competitor
experience bad luck in order to maintain the streak. Craig Dollansky
of Elk River, Minn., took the lead from his ButlerBuilt Hot Seat
pole starting position and maintained the top spot until he blew a
right rear tire with just three laps to go. That put Lasoski's white
and orange No. 20L into the number one spot, a position he kept
without pressure over the final circuits to the finish. Lasoski's
Chevrolet-powered Eagle Chassis, which started from the sixth
position, is owned by Tony Stewart (NASCAR Winston Cup driver) and
Vernon Massey, but he credited his crew chief with the victory.
"Tonight's victory goes to my crew chief Jimmy Carr,"
Lasoski said. "He made the tire selection." Frankie Kerr
of Fremont, Ohio, trailed Lasoski to the finish line ahead of Joey
Saldana of Brownsburg, Ohio. Rodney Duncan of Lockbourne, Ohio and
Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J. completed the top five. Tire wear
was a concern for the drivers in the event. "I probably only
could have gone about five or six laps more," Lasoski said.
Runnerup Kerr said, "I was worried if my (right rear) tire was
gonna make it."
Saldana changed engines before the night's events and had his
best outing of the four nights. Saldana came from the eighth
starting position to finish third. Completing the top 10 were Kasey
Kahne of Enumclaw, Wash.; Kenny Jacobs of Holmesville, Ohio, who
earned the Team Simpson Racing Lucky Seven award; Kelly Kinser of
Bloomington, Ind.; Todd Shaffer of Millerstown, Pa.; and Todd Gracey
of Brodbecks, Pa. Only two caution periods slowed the feature - on
lap seven when Missouri's Ricky Logan spun and was narrowly avoided
by several oncoming cars and on lap 27 when Dollansky lost a tire.
Dollansky was able to replace his tire during the caution and
finished 14th. Tire problems also bit California driver Paul
McMahan, who was up to third place from a 10th-place start when his
tire went flat while running under the caution with three laps to
go. He also changed the tire, but dropped out before the race's
finish. The United Expressline heat went to Kasey Kahne, the
Southwest Expressline heat was won by Saldana and the United
Specialties heat winner was Jacobs. The United Expressline B Main
winner was Ricky Logan.
